    We're on the lookout for an experienced Financial Crime Co-ordinator to join our busy team at one of the UK's leading provider of small business finance.

Financial Crime Co-ordinator

Location: Ewloe, North Wales (near Chester)

Role & Key Responsibilities

  • Review and action automated case alerts daily, ensuring workflows remain within SLAs
  • Undertake investigations into suspicions of financial crime
  • Complete the assessment and ongoing monitoring of high-risk customers, using a risk-based approach
  • Identify and escalate potential financial crime risks
  • Provide guidance to the business on financial crime and reputational risk issues
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all relevant Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Terrorist Financing legislation and regulation.
  • Assist with the development of training and awareness of financial crime risks throughout the wider business answer questions from round the business and provide general assistance
  • Actively contribute to a positive business culture
  • To assist the Financial Crime Team Manager and wider Compliance function in other areas within the department

Core Skills and Knowledge

Technical Knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related financial crime investigations role within the financial services sector
  • Experience of using anti-fraud systems (Hunter, SIRA)
  • Strong computer literacy and clear understanding of key regulatory and legislative considerations, specifically from the FCA/JMLSG
Analytical
  • Ability to effectively analyse complex data within a timely manner, with high level of attention to detail
Relationship Management
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, at all levels, maintaining confidentiality where appropriate
Self-motivation
  • Good work ethic, strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Adaptable team player, who can work independently
  • Demonstrate a commitment to achieve the highest standards
Product knowledge
  • Strong understanding of industry and White Oak UK products, relevant types and likely signs of fraud/money laundering

Helpful, but not essential

  • Good working knowledge of a wide range of financial products and services
  • ICA qualification (or equivalent) in Fraud or AML, desirable
