    Training and Development Officer

    We're looking for a talented Training and Development Officer to join our growing team in our Glasgow office.

Training and Development Officer

Location: Main base is Glasgow, however travel to Ireland, North Wales and Manchester on a regular basis required

We are looking for candidates with significant and direct experience in a Learning & Development role, designing and delivering all methods of training. Ideally you will have worked in the financial sector and sales both face to face and telephony.

You will be a highly motivated and proactive individual who has an exceptional track record for coaching and developing on a one to one basis. If you are right for us, you will be competent in managing and delivering L&D projects and will have awareness of the emerging trends in Learning and Development and of best practice.

The ability to effectively prioritise workload and handle pressure, interruptions and multiple projects is essential. We are looking for candidates who are strong team players, with the confidence and gravitas to build relationships quickly with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will also have desire to learn to fully understand the business as a whole and how coaching, training and developing can help achieve business goals

Role & Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver onboarding training program for all new starts within the business.
  • Experience and ability to design, research and develop new training material to proactively meet business needs.
  • Exceptional proven successful experience of coaching and developing sales teams on a one to one basis to help achieve their targets in line with our customer experience objectives and business targets
  • Track monitor and evaluate all processes and achievements.
  • Design and update on boarding programme for all new starts within the business
  • Proven experience of delivering training courses for systems, skills and product and regulatory knowledge
  • Ability to project manage a training workstream for change programs within the business
  • Leading by example and pro-actively offering on-going support to new and existing staff.
  • Establishing effective working relationships with each department and understand how they work and how this feeds into the overall business operation.
  • Continually searching for ways in which to further improve the training experience for the business.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a quickly changing business
  • Ability to evaluate training programmes and re design as required
  • Ability to design and deliver all methods of training such as CBT, Face to face and Distance learning
  • Knowledge of all learning styles with the experience of applying these in designing and delivering all methods of training
  • Any other task that the business deems reasonable

  • Knowledge of assigned products, markets and customers to ensure that effective training programs are identified, developed and implemented
  • You must be highly motivated, have the ability to work alone and be pro active
  • Ability to adapt to change very quickly and work under pressure
  • Highly motivated by coaching and developing others
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders at all level
  • Must be flexible to travel with overnight stays, main base Glasgow although travel to Ireland, North Wales and Manchester on a regular basis required

Helpful but not essential

  • Experience of working within a call centre/ telephony/sales environment
  • Experience within the financial sector
  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent or TAP although not essential
